The Power of Cisco 9800 Phone Series: Top Features You Need to Know
September 4, 2025Pairing Cisco with Microsoft Teams gives you flexibility without adding another place to work. If your users already live in Teams, you don’t have to change their daily toolkit—you simply add the Cisco Call and Webex Meetings apps inside Teams. Teams remains the single workspace your people use all day, while Webex delivers enterprise-grade calling, meetings, and AI features behind the scenes. The result: fewer context switches, consistent Microsoft 365 governance, and Cisco-powered performance where your users already work.

Eliminate External Caller Noise on PSTN in Webex: A Step-by-Step Guide

What you’ll set up
- Cisco Call (Webex Calling in Teams) — place/receive calls using Webex from within Teams; presence sync and enterprise features come from Webex. Webex Help CenterWebex
- Webex Meetings in Teams — schedule, start, and join Webex meetings directly from Teams; set your Webex site once and go. Webex Help Center+1
Prerequisites
- A Webex Calling or UCM/Enterprise call license for users who will place calls via Cisco Call.
- A Webex Meetings host account; for a smooth sign-in, the user’s Webex email should match Microsoft 365, or be linked by the site admin. (Teams Free isn’t supported for the Meetings app.) Webex Help Center+1
- In the Microsoft Teams admin center, third-party apps must be allowed. Microsoft Learn
Part 1 — Install & Configure Cisco Call in Microsoft Teams

- Open Setup policies → Add (or edit your global policy):
- Installed apps → Add apps → search Cisco Call → Add.
- Pinned apps → Add apps → Cisco Call → Add → move it where you want in the left rail. Webex Help Center
Result: Cisco Call appears and stays pinned for the targeted users automatically.
B) User self-install (if admin chooses not to force-install)
- In Teams, click Apps, search Cisco Call, and Add.
- Sign in with your Webex credentials when prompted.
- Optional: open the Cisco Call app to view your work number and adjust Webex call settings right from Teams. Webex Help Center
C) How users place calls from Teams (powered by Webex)
- Use the Cisco Call left-rail app (dial pad, call history).
- From a chat/channel, use the Cisco Call message extension to start a Webex call.
- Presence stays in sync between Teams and Webex (supported features). Webex

Part 2 — Install & Configure Webex Meetings in Microsoft Teams
A) Admin preparation (one time)
- In Webex Control Hub (or Webex Site Admin), open your Meeting site → Common Settings / Site Options → under Third-Party Integration (Microsoft 365 / Teams), enable the Microsoft options (including “Allow users to sign in with Microsoft 365”). Webex Help Center+1

B) User install & first-time setup
- In Teams, click Apps → search Webex Meetings → Add. Webex Help Center
- Open the Webex tab in Teams and set your Webex site address once (e.g.,
company.webex.com). - Sign in with your Webex host account. You can now schedule/start/join Webex meetings from Teams; if you have a Personal Room, you can share that link quickly. Webex Help Center
Admin Quick-Check (both apps)
- Allowed apps: Third-party apps enabled; Cisco apps not blocked. Microsoft Learn
- Setup policies: Auto-install & pin Cisco Call and Webex Meetings for the right users. Webex Help Center
- Account alignment: Webex Meetings users have a host license and email that matches M365 (or are linked). Webex Help Center
Troubleshooting & Tips
- Don’t see the app in Teams Store? It’s likely blocked by policy—ask IT to allow it.
- Cisco Call signed in but calls won’t place? Ensure the user has a Webex Calling/UCM calling entitlement and the Webex App is installed and running.
- Meetings tab asks for a site every time? Set the site once in the app; admins can enforce org defaults in Control Hub/Site Admin. Webex Help Center
- Room systems joining Teams meetings: That’s handled by Webex Video Integration (CVI)—a separate setup for Cisco/SIP devices. Webex Help Center+1
